KachaSilverX – Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 2026

KachaSilverX is a peer-to-peer silver marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of raw silver in Salem, Tamil Nadu. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use KachaSilverX:

Name – used to identify you on the platform
Phone number – used for OTP login and shared with the other party only when a deal is confirmed
Email address – used for account linking via Google Sign-In
Aadhaar number – collected for identity verification only; stored in encrypted format using AES encryption and never shared with other users. Only the last 4 digits are displayed in the app for your reference
Location (city) – collected to display on your listings and help nearby buyers find you
Device token – used to send push notifications about your listings and deals

2. How We Use Your Information

To verify your identity and create your account
To connect buyers and sellers on the platform
To send notifications about deal activity on your listings
Your phone number is shared with the other party only after a deal is confirmed between buyer and seller

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your information with third parties except:

Firebase (Google) – for authentication and push notifications
AWS – for secure cloud hosting of the platform
The other party in a confirmed deal – phone number only

4. Data Security

All data is stored securely on AWS RDS (PostgreSQL). Aadhaar numbers are encrypted using AES encryption before storage; the full number is only accessible to authorised administrators when required by law. All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS/SSL).

5. Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data using either of the following methods:

Option 1: In-App

Go to Profile → Delete Account within the app.

Option 2: Email Request

Send an email to kachasilverx@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete My Account" from your registered email address, or include your registered phone number. We will process your request within 7 business days.

What happens when you delete your account:

Your name, phone number, email, Aadhaar number, and profile data are permanently deleted.
Your active listings are removed from the marketplace.
If you have deal history, your account is anonymised and your personal details are removed, while transaction records are retained for platform integrity.
This action is irreversible.

6. Children's Privacy

KachaSilverX is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

7. Data Retention

Sold listings are archived after 90 days and permanently purged after 365 days.
Active listings with no buyer interest are automatically expired after 180 days.
Completed deal records (connections) are archived after 180 days once both parties have reviewed.
Archived data is permanently deleted after 365 days.

8. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

Access – Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction – Request correction of inaccurate data (name, location, email can be edited in-app)
Erasure – Delete your account and all associated data via Profile → Delete Account
Grievance redressal – Contact us at kachasilverx@gmail.com for any data-related concerns

9. Google Play Services & Firebase

KachaSilverX uses Firebase (a Google service) for authentication, push notifications, and analytics. Firebase may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and app usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
